Lefley, Charles – Born: Sudbury, Suffolk on 20.8.1876.[1] Parents: Charles Lefley (Fishmonger) and Jane [née Lumley]. Family Connections: Brother to George Henry Lefley [b1883]. Home: 8 North Street, Sudbury, Suffolk (1891), Melville Street, Sandown, Isle of Wight, Hampshire (1901 to 1921), 22 Albert Road, Sandown (1939). Occupation: Fish Hawker (1891), Fishmonger (1901), Fruiterer (1911), Fishmonger (1921), Farmer (1939). Married: Georgina Bessie Emily Brown in 1897. Service Record: Charles was a member of 2nd [Volunteer] Battalion, Suffolk Regiment before enlisting as Gnr.8514 with the Royal Artillery in 1895. He was discharged in 1897 upon payment of £18 0s 0d.[2] Died: Sandown, Isle of Wight in 1955.

Lefley, George Henry Born: Sudbury, Suffolk on 2.3.1883.[3] Parents: Charles Lefley (Fishmonger) and Jane [née Lumley]. Family Connections: Brother to Charles Lefley [b1876]; also, brother-in-law of William Harry Stanhope Theobald [b1878], Percy James Stanhope [b1886], William Harold Stanhope [b1889], Bertie Stanhope [b1897] and Charles John Stanhope [b1900]. Home: Friars Street, Sudbury, Suffolk [1883], 8 North Street, Sudbury (1891), Nethergate Street, Clare, Suffolk (1901), Hall Street, Long Melford (1911), Kingsley Street, Bartholomew Lane, Sudbury [1953]. Occupation: Postman (1901 and 1911). Married: Kate Edith Stanhope of Long Melford in 1906. Service Record: George was a member of the Long Melford Volunteer Training Corps in 1915.[4]  In 1922 he is recorded as a committee member of the Long Melford Ex-Service Men’s Club. Died: Sudbury, Suffolk on 12.6.1953.[5]
