Buttle, Thomas Edgar – Born: Westminster, London on 3.7.1890.[1] Parents: Thomas Edgar Buttle (Farm Servant) and Ellen [née Townsend]. Family Connections: Son-in-law of Frederick John Brockwell [b1854] of Long Melford. Home: Cowells Farm, Lindell, Essex (1891), Mill End, Finchingfield, Essex (1901), Bungalow, Bargate Lane, Dedham, Essex (1939) to [1963]. Occupation: Market Gardener (1939), Fruit and Poultry Farmer [1960]. Married: Edith Annie Brockwell of Long Melford in 1921. Service Record: Thomas was conscripted on 10.12.1915 as Pte.47856 with the Essex Regiment, later transferring as Pte.530783 to the Labour Corps. In 1919 he fell sick and was issued with a Silver War Badge and discharged.[2] Died: Dedham, Essex on 5.3.1963.[3]
