Selected Biography

Partridge, Robert Wickham – Born: Chelmsford, Essex on 3.1.1908.[1]  Parents: Frank Partridge of Kersey, Suffolk (Farm Bailiff) and Florence Esther [née Tozer].  Home: Patching Hall, Chelmsford, Essex (1911), Glenmore, Portishead, Somerset (1921), Mon Abri, Tendring Road, Beaumont-cum-Mose, Essex [1930 ER], 35 Halbutt Street, Dagenham, Essex [1930 ER], 373 Straight Road, Shrut End, Colchester, Essex (1939), Long Melford [1963].  Occupation: Elementary School Teacher (1939), Headteacher of Long Melford Primary School [1963].[2]  Married: Ethel Ravenscroft in 1938.  Service Record: Robert was an Air Raid Precaution Warden in Colchester during the Second World War.[3]  Newspaper Record: Between 1973 and 1980 Robert Partridge was the Suffolk County Council member for Glemsford and Long Melford.[4]  Died: Ipswich, Suffolk in 1990 and buried in St. Mary’s Churchyard, Kersey, Suffolk.
