Tylor, Anne Helena – Born: Oxted, Surrey on 6.4.1916.[1] Parents: Dr Christopher Tylor (General Practitioner) [see details below] and Dorothy Violet [née Hodgkinson]. Home: The Elms, Hall Street, Long Melford (1921). Married: Ian Clayton McKenzie. Service Record: Anne enlisted with the Women’s Royal Naval Service on 18.3.1942.[2] Died: Brockenhurst, Hampshire on 14.10.2006.
Tylor, Dr Christopher [MA, MD, BC, MRCS, LRCP] – Born: Chislehurst, Kent on 9.5.1880.[3]. Parents: William Alfred Tylor (Brass Founder) and Jessie [née Charlesworth]. Family Connections: Father to Anne Helena Tylor [b1916]. Home: Willow Grove, Chislehurst, Kent (1881 to 1891), Beechcroft, Church Lane, Oxsted, Surrey [1913], The Elms, Hall Street, Long Melford [1915] to (1939), The Old House Cottage, Combe, Oxfordshire [1981]. Occupation: House Surgeon at St Bartholomew’s Hospital and later at the West London Hospital.[4] Physician (1911 to 1921), Certifying Factory Surgeon, Medical Officer and Public Vaccinator [1925 and 1937],[5] Medical Practitioner (1939). Married: Dorothy Violet Hodgkinson in 1910. Service Record: During the First World War Christopher held a temporary commission as a Captain with the Royal Army Medical Corps, being posted to Salonika from 7.9.1916.[6] In 1922 he is recorded as one of the 14 vice-presidents of the Long Melford Ex-Service Men’s Club. Died: Combe, Oxfordshire on 10.10.1981.[7]
