Wade, George – Born: Little Waldingfield, Suffolk in 1849. Parents: Henry Roe Wade (Farmer) and Sarah Anne [née Underwood]. Family Connections: Father of Henry Roe Wade [b1887], George Wade [b1889] and Stanley Leech Wade [b1894]. Home: Mill End Farm, Little Waldingfield (1851 to 1881), Park Farm, Little Waldingfield, Suffolk (1891) to [1932]. Occupation: Farmer (1881) to [1932]. Married: Ellen Selina Leech in 1883. Service Record: George was a member of the Melford Military Service Tribunal from 1916. Death: Little Waldingfield, Suffolk on 8.1.1932.[1]
Wade, George – Born: Little Waldingfield, Suffolk in 1889. Parents: George Wade (Farmer) [see entry above] and Ellen Selina [née Leech]. Family Connections: Brother to Henry Roe Wade [b1887] and Stanley Leech Wade [b1894]. Home: Park Farm, Little Waldingfield, Suffolk (1891 to 1911), Butlers Farm, Newton Green, Suffolk (1921). Occupation: Farmer (1921). Married: Abbie Mary Bloomfield in 1917. Died: George’s lifeless body was found in an outbuilding of his farm on 31.7.1938, with a gun at his feet. The subsequent inquest returned a verdict ‘that the deceased took his life while the balance of his mind was disturbed’. Called to testify, his doctor said that Wade had suffered a nervous breakdown four months earlier and had reported having experienced hallucinations.[2]

Family Connections: Brother to George Wade [b1889] and Stanley Leech Wade [b1894]. Home: Park Farm, Little Waldingfield, Suffolk (1891 to 1911), Bull Lane Farm, Bull Lane, Long Melford, Suffolk [1916 to 1927],[4] Wood Hall, Little Waldingfield [1927 to 1948]. Occupation: Farmer [1911 to 1946]. Married: Olive Louise Bear in 1913 [see her biography below]. Service Record: Henry was a member of the Long Melford Suffolk Prisoners of War Relief Committee in 1916. During the Second World War he acted as an Air Raid Precaution Warden in Little Waldingfield and was a member of the West Suffolk War Agricultural Executive Committee. Died: Ipswich, Suffolk on 17.2.1948.[5]
Wade, Mrs Olive Louise [née Bear] – Born: Acton, Suffolk on 27.3.1885.[6] Parents: Charles Daking Bear (Farmer) and Isobel Caroline [née Firmin]. Family Connections: Daughter-in-law of George Wade [b1849] and Ellen Selina Wade [b1860]; also, sister-in-law of George Wade [b1889] and Stanley Leech Wade [b1894]. Home: Babergh Heath Farm, Acton, Suffolk (1891), Bull Lane Farm, Bull Lane, Long Melford, Suffolk [1916 to 1927], Wood Hall, Little Waldingfield [1927 to 1941]. Married: Henry Roe Wade in 1913 see his biography above. Service Record: Mrs Wade was a member of the Long Melford Women’s Institute from its foundation in 1918. Died: Little Waldingfield, Suffolk on 8.1.1948.[7]
Wade, Stanley Leech – Born: Little Waldingfield, Suffolk in 1894. Parents: George Wade (Farmer) [see entry above] and Ellen Selina [née Leech]. Family Connections: Brother to Henry Roe Wade [b1887] and George Wade [b1889]. Home: Park Farm, Little Waldingfield, Suffolk (1901 to 1911). Occupation: Assisting on the family farm. Service Record: Stanley was conscripted on 1.12.1915 as Pte.7353 with 2/1st Battalion, Honourable Artillery Company, joining his unit in France on 18.11.1916 as part of 22nd Brigade, 7th Division. He saw action at the Battle of Bullecourt on 3.5.1917 where he received a series of wounds to his arms, legs and eye and was sent to No.5 General Hospital in Rouen for treatment.[8] Died: On 17.6.1917 he succumbed to his wounds and is buried in St. Sever Cemetery Extension [grave ref: P.I.F.1B], Rouen, France.[9]
